RETAIN Consortium Gathers in Erfurt for its 4th Project Meeting

The RETAIN project consortium convened in Erfurt, Germany, from 19 to 21 May 2026 for its fourth consortium meeting. Hosted by KKF at their facilities, the three-day gathering brought together partners from across Europe to review project progress, share results, and align on the path forward towards the project's key milestones.

A Focused Start: Workshops on Day 1
Decision support tool (led by RINA): The first workshop explored how a decision support tool can be used and applied in the context of recycling processes.
Converting recyclates into high-value products (led by RENO/SIOEN): The second workshop aimed to identify which applications & techniques would be best placed for each stream.
Key Exploitable Results (led by EuPC): The final workshop of the day took a forward-looking perspective, identifying the project's most impactful outcomes with potential for market uptake and further exploitation
Full Project Review: Day 2
Wednesday 20 May was devoted to a comprehensive project updates. SIOEN opened the day with an overview of the project timeline and overall progress, after which each partner presented the ongoing work and results achieved in their respective work package.
KKF Site Visit: Day 3
The final day, 21 May, opened with a visit to KKF's production and processing facilities, offering partners a first-hand look at the host's capabilities and their direct relevance to the RETAIN project's objectives. Following the tour, SIOEN presented an update on WP8, covering project management, coordination, and administrative progress.
Looking Ahead
With significant progress reported across all work packages and a strong spirit of collaboration, the RETAIN consortium leaves Erfurt well-aligned. The project continues to advance its mission of Giving PVC Tarpaulins Infinite Life.
We look forward to the next consortium meeting, which will take place in 6-8 October 2026 in Graz, Austria, hosted by SATTLER, where partners will continue project development and review progress towards upcoming milestones.
